This person probably kept just trying to explore and in the process was getting his ass handed to him in combat. Steam really needs to change how reviews work because this person didn't state anything about the game that isn't subjective. So basically, someone hampered with the success of this game because this person wasn't good at the combat which kept thus person from exploring and because this person probably made a really horrible build and didn't plan prior when building his character, Like you do in every game with an in depth skill tree system. Which is not at all the case here, you sort of need prior knowledge to play it, such as what items to invest your finite upgrade resources in without wasting them forever, and what items not to sell because you will need them later". Which, if you can't handle combat, and I can't (yes, I know, "git gub scrub"), well then kiss your exploring and wonderment of this world goodbye, because progression is impossible".Īnd then the review goes on to stated "My expectations were not met, and maybe that's the crux of this, because when I see an isometric, I see "player agency in build and combat style". but maybe we can do something to pull your eye to the ladder or give direct directions in the journal. One of the top reviews i was reading stated that "Sands of Aura is in part a game about exploring, the level design is absolutely stunning, and there's a lot of map exploration to do, but it is also attempting to market itself as a Souls Like. the only issue is the voice acting is complete. I only bother to comment because otherwise it's been pretty fun to play thank you! i'm glad you are enjoying the game! I'll add this to a suggestions list to see if we cant get some more clarity on this. Generally speaking, and for future reference, I have no issues with this type of thing but I feel it doesn't really help here and a normal view would serve better You can't really see much of anything that isn't ~5 Ft in front of you. Same with trying to look around the areas when you're not familiar and searching for landmarks. Even stopping to investigate after reading this, I STILL missed it then somehow spotted a corner of it peaking past the bridge on my way back Not necessarily because it's a bit hidden, but the camera is kinda weird and you can't really see the ladder.
